How to Make an Immune-Boosting Homemade Syrup to Fight the Cold and Flu

Falling ill during the cold season is what everyone tries to avoid, unfortunately not always with success. The common cold and flu can affect anyone with a weak immune system.

Even though the ideal way to protect yourself from viruses is to avoid people who cough and sneeze, that’s not always possible.

So, you have to do something to boost your immune system and prevent yourself from falling sick this winter. And, even if you do catch a cold or flu, you should try to reduce the time of the illness and cure them as soon as possible.

One way to do that is to prepare a syrup using a few extremely healthy ingredients. Take it the moment you notice the first signs of cold and flu to prevent them while you can.

Honey

Cinnamon

  • Unrefined melted coconut oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Raw honey – 3 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon – 1

Preparation

Squeeze the juice of the lemon and mix it with the rest of the ingredient. However, try to avoid heating the honey as heating destroys the helpful enzymes. But, if you have to do it, heat it at the lowest temperature.

How to Use

The moment you notice the first cold and flu symptoms, take one to two teaspoons of the syrup, three to five times a day. However, don’t give it to kids under the age of one as they should not consume honey.
